On Tuesday 9th Eucerin company visited us and taught us the importance of using sunscreen when we are doing any outdoor activity. They also gave us some recommendations like: wear sunglasses, wear hats and avoid the sun during 11am to 3pm which is when the sun is the strongest. Here are some photos.

Our school was the scene of the skating exhibition by Igor Cheremetieff, currently nº2 in the world ranking Slalom World Skating Association (WSSA). Cheremetieff delight us with all his skills. Here are some pictures.

On September we had a Spring Festival contest. All the students participates in differents events. Kinder took part on 2 events: Create a story (español) and represent a chant.

The recess is not only a time to play it´s so much more. Here we have a great time but we are learning too. We learn how to share, to be patience, to follow rules, to be kind, to say please, sorry and can you help me?. We also reinforce our motor skills and develop our imagination. This time, also helps us to be confident and brave because we try to do things that normally we are to shy or afraid to do, we are always trying to do more. So let your child play, they are working hard.

Back to school time means changes for kids and families. The first day of school means: new classrooms, new teachers, new friends, new routines, etc. Making a smooth transition between home and school can help children trust this new place, feel comfortable and save there. Also feel good about themselves for being a little olders and matures.
Helping children adapt to all of these new situations is an important work.

Parents can help by:
- Been enthusiastic about the upcoming change: if you are excited and confident, you´re child will be too.
- Prepared yourself: if ´s posible visit the new setting and introduce to the new teacher.
- Start daily routines; make your child become envolved (let them choose or pack their lunch, go to bed early)
- Put a side extratime on the first day for chatting but remember not to prolong the good bye.

* ALWAYS SAY GOOD BYE to your child, BE FIRM but friendly.

Last year I had the most wonderful time at Saint George´s College. I was a teacher in Pre- kinder of 18 amazing kids that captivated my heart. They did more brighter and happier my days.

September was a month full of hard work, surprises and great moments. We prepared ourselves for the spring festival contest. In this contest all the students took part in different activities like: Declamation, Creation of a story, a vocabulary contest, and dramatizes songs.

SOLIDARITY WEEK

As a member of the Latin American Head Conference , our school made the commitment to rebuild a school in Chincha. For that reason, San Jorge Patrol which is in charge of social work in the school, took on the challenge of working in this task and organized a Solidarity Week. The event was carrying out from Monday 05 until Wednesday 07 of this week, and consisted of 3 days of fun clothing.

Each student contribute to this cause, giving a simbolic donation. The objective of this activity was to motivate the solidarity and to emphasize the importance of being supportive with our fellow men.

Study visit: Our Community!

On Wednesday 9th we had our second study visit. We went to a fire station and to a police station. We learned a lot of interesting things. Then we finished the study visit with a nice picnic on the park "El Faro".

Some things that we need to remember:

1. Call only if we are in a real emergency.
2. Have always the emergency numbers in a special place, near the phone or where everyone can see it.
3. Have a safety backpack near your door with: water bottles, flashlight, emergency kit, some blankets.
4. Do not talk or accept anything from strangers.
5. Always stay near your parents when you are outside.

Study Visit: HUACHIPA ZOO!!

All Pre- k students were very excited about the study visit. My beavers were counting all week the days that were lacking to go to the zoo. Finally the day came. Last friday we visited the HUACHIPA ZOO. When we were at the bus, they started to ask so many questions about the zoo, they want to look, know and learn more about zoo animals. They had an awesome time there. We walked a lot but they seems not to care about it. They were really happy. They had the opportunity to fed the little ducks and to pet some rabbits. They also talk to the lion because when they started shouting to the lion, the lion answered them back, also they saw how a tiger took a bath and how the panther took a nap. We finished the visit with a little tour around the zoo by train.

We loved the visit!

HELLO EVERYBODY!!

A new school year has started and everybody has felt a little bit anxious and excited (we were in front of a totally new experience). Two weeks have already passed and we have shared funny times.
